Transformative Leadership: Motivation, Inspiration, and Fundamental Change in the Human Services
As poverty increases and the complexity and pace of modern day society races ahead, this country's human service organizations are met with an unprecedented challenge of efficiently serving a large, heterogeneous community of people in need. With the right leadership approaches, social workers can meet this challenge. This workshop focuses on how to become a transformative leader, one who can guide, inspire, and influence others to bring about a fundamental change in how things are done. Participants will learn skills to help practice patience, embrace diversity, carry their vision as a tool, and other dimensions of transformative leadership. The hands-on workshop invites participants to use leadership tools that are relevant for developing personal leadership practices, and then guiding and inspiring others to co-create a profound shift in the way things are viewed and realized in the workplace. This will be an illuminating workshop for students and new professionals entering the human services field as well as seasoned administrators.
